Vusal Gasimli received the Ambassadors of European Union
Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analyses of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CAERC), received the delegation consisted of ambassadors on special tasks of European Union (EU) Eastern Partnership. Executive director informed that, Azerbaijan was the largest trade and investment partner of European Union in the region: “At the same time, Baku-Tbilisi-Gars and Astara-Astara railways, as well as Baku Sea Trade Port will contribute the development of East-West and North-South corridors, which is significant for European Union”. Vusal Gasimli talking about business environment in Azerbaijan, improved by economic reforms, stressed that, Azerbaijan advanced 8 steps and rose to 57th place from 65th between 190 countries according to “Doing Business 2018” Report and became one of 3 reformer countries in European and Central Asian region.
During the debates, Yaan Reyn hold, special plenipotentiary ambassador in European Union Eastern Partnership of Estonia, currently leading European Union Council, behalf of EU leadership and ambassadors, participating in the meeting that, Azerbaijan-European Union cooperation develops positively: “The achievements in Azerbaijan in the field of economic reforms and digitalization are very significant”.
Kestutis Yankauskas, head of Azerbaijan representation of European Union, stressed that there may be created new opportunities for cooperation during the visits of the ambassadors from different countries.
At the end of the meeting, the questions on Strategic Road Maps, Azexport, Digital Trade Crossroads and “One Stop Shop” Export Support Center were replied.
