Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), met with BP's delegation visiting Baku. CAERC Executive Director gave detailed information about the economic reforms led by President Ilham Aliyev to BP Group Policy and Economic Advisers Michael Denison and Julian Bovden, as well as BP's Government Relations Advisor on Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey Gunesh Aliyeva. It was noted that Azerbaijan and BP have been successfully cooperating for many years. During these years BP has acted as a strong partner in the implementation of large-scale energy projects in our country.
Vusal Gasimli said that during last year there were memorable events in the field of energy. He said that the contract for the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field was extended until 2050, and the successful implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor was also ensured. The executive director added that the opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway was not only important for our country, but the whole region and the world, as well.
BP Group Policy Adviser Michael Denison expressed his satisfaction with the progressive development in Azerbaijan. He highly appreciated the successful cooperation between BP and Azerbaijan and the policy pursued by Azerbaijan in energy security, stressing that the UK Government would continue to support energy projects. During the meeting, the partners exchanged views on the current situation and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
