Vusal Gasimly, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) received the delegation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which has visited Azerbaijan.
During the discussion with William Tompson, head of Eurasian Unit of the Global Relations Secretariat and Daniel Quadbeck, project manager of Eurasian Competitiveness Program, the guests were given comprehensive information on economic reforms undertaken in Azerbaijan, Strategic Road Maps, Digital Trade Hub, as well as Azexport portal and “One stop shop” Export Support Center. Director of the CAERC further added that various programs have been implemented in order to achieve both the macroeconomic and sector-specific goals in Azerbaijan. Works carried out under these directions bear their fruits. Because Azerbaijan’s position in international rankings has progressed, serious results have been achieved towards further improvement of the business climate.
During the discussions, representatives of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) expressed their particular interest in the relations with Azerbaijan. Daniel Quadbeck, the project manager of the Organization informed about the opportunities for cooperation on Strategic Road Map. He further stated that they have been interested in cooperation with the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication in monitoring and coordination of the Strategic Road Map on production of consumption goods at small and medium enterprises. The Organization came up with an initiative for organization of several workshops and trainings under this theme in Azerbaijan.
Upon the completion of negotiations, representatives of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) got familiar with the “One stop shop” Export Support Center. They were given comprehensive information on the work and activities of the Center.
