CAERC launched public lecture at State Oil and Industry University
Center for Analyses of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan (CAERC) launched public lecture on “Economic reforms in Azerbaijan: Achievements and Perspectives” in Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). Pr. Mustafa Babanli, rector of ASOIU greeted event participants and gave detailed information about the measures realized in the university. He stressed changing the name of the university in 2015 to Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University as setting large obligations for high school in preparation of professional specialists for oil and non-oil sector. M.Babanli told about preparation of highly qualified cadres competitive for world trade market and in the level of meeting the needs of the economy of developing Azerbaijan as ASOIU’s main mission. Rector M.Babanli, talking about realization of these measures according to the challenge of Mr. Ilham Aliyev on the necessity of transformation of oil capital to human capital, noted ASOIU’s providing teaching, based on the unity of teaching, science and innovations. He informed about final level of the activities on some projects under “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, realized by the students in “START” Startup and Innovation Center and ASOIU’s being interested in the cooperation with the Center for Analyses of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The rector noted that, achieving the agreement on internship of ASOIU students in the Center for Analyses of Economic Reforms and Communication of the Republic of Azerbaijan in this sphere opened new opportunities for enlarging the cooperation among university and the Center. M.Babanli stressed the significance of the campaign on information of today’s students – future’s specialists and challenged the students to be more active.
Vusal Gasimli, CAERC Executive Director noted that, in the result of the reforms, Azerbaijan not only overcame the crisis, at the same time, advanced a lot in the ratings of World Bank and World Economic Forum and transformed to one of 3 reformer countries of Europe and central Asia: “The reforms don’t finish with only improvement of the legislation and establishment of new institution, the implementation is important too. Participation of young talented and patriotic people is important in provision of reforms. Trade market has to be adapted to the development perspectives and diversification policy of the economy”. V.Gasimli also touched the importance of imformativeness of young cadres and professor-teacher staff about reforms in the formation of public opinion: “Our universities must actively participate in either propaganda or generation of reforms”.
At the end of the event, internship of group of students of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University in the Center for Analyses of Economic Reforms and Communication was agreed.
It must be reminded that, the purpose of the Center for Analyses of Economic Reforms and Communication launching the series of events in leading universities of Azerbaijan is to provide awareness on economic reforms, correct information of professor-teacher and students about reforms and to learn their opinion on this process.
